today we have the build from one of our players, @tenore#0775. He set some impressive records with his ship lately. And here is his build and a post he created for you:
- Please note: Build and Article have been updated as of May 24th, 2019
Welcome to Rise of Discovery! After a few months away I’ve returned to the game and decided to test and revise the builds to be inline with the current season. The most recent change seems to have lowered the DPS ceiling slightly but energy DPS combined with a tank and a Sci/Exotic are very strong still. These builds are designed with elite queues in mind and with a few tweaks can be adapted to increase survivability when having a tank is not beneficial or realistic. For queues such as as Korfez or Dranuur Gauntlet Elite, I prefer a straight CRF build. My builds incorporate the very costly trait “Go for the Kill” and “Weapons Emitter Overdrive” which is not accessible to most players. A general DPS trait such as “Promise of Ferocity” and “Strike from the Shadow” would be a decent and affordable substitutes.
Colony tac console mixed with vulnerability locators are still the best choice in my opinion for increasing survivability with minimal DPS loss. While having a more traditional spike heal console such as the Protomatter Field Projector, Reiterative Structural Capacitor or the Regenerative Integrity Field has served me well in the past, the constant influx of damage required a change to a source of near constant damage healing. By using CSV or CRF and a dummy BO in combination with 3 Colony tac consoles, I have 6 chances for a very substantial regen based heal every 15 seconds. The loss of CritH is mitigated somewhat by Targeting-Linked weapons and their accuracy boost. Also important and sometimes overlooked is that you can’t DPS if you’re dead!
If there is sufficient interest, I would be willing to update some general DPS beam builds although not too much has change with respect there. As I enjoy the process of testing and min maxing, I will update these builds as I make changes. Thank you for you continued interest and happy DPS’ing!

Thank you for sharing. 🙂
You are very welcome! 🙂
Awesome Build Tenore. It has been fun listening to you laugh with glee and curse with annoyance on your journey.
Thanks Ed, I think the successes have outweighed the frustrations and failures for the most part. It’s been a good journey and we’ll keep moving onwards and upwards. 🙂
Awesome build little buddy!
Thanks very much good sir!
I once used A2B build for a while but I abandoned it since S12. But now it made a comeback! Great work.
Yes, since mixed damage builds are no longer possible with the same level of damage, A2B is back as a very good cooldown reduction method! Thank you!
And I’m thinking hard how to apply newly revised A2B build to my Kelvin Connie; Since I reached 66.5k dps with Kelvin Connie in S14 (77.4k in S13).
You’d have to run your Engineering boffs like so: EptS 1 A2B1 A2B2 RSP3 and EptW1
That would be a good hint. Thanks ! 😉
Also I use tac boff skills like:
Lt. Cmdr. Tac : KLW1 , APB1 , FAW3
Lt. Cmdr. Uni : TT1 , APD1* , TS3
APD1: Adak’Ukan doff + Attack Pattern Delta Prime trait applied.
If you’re using APDP that seating looks good.
I think so. Anyway, Thanks for giving a hint for engineering boff layout of Kelvin Connie! It may provide huge improvement.
You’re very welcome!
I decided to replace APD to APB, so I can use APB by turns. With your help about new A2B-meta build, I reached 75.8k with Kelvin Connie! XD
with a2b you need only one beta to use it on the shared cd.
Yes, A2B brings cooldowns to global!
where did you get the nausican eng boff with fed char?
Diplomicy T4 and than from a dude next to admiral quinn
Is this the one cross faction boff you get? I went with an orion 😞.
should be possible to trade the one you got in to get a new one.
Is that by Sulu? 😂
Would Uhura Holo be preferred over the nausican boff?
No; the Nausicaan is a 1.5% Cat 2 buff while Uhura is a tiny Cat1 buff.
You could identify it ingame by “+%
” damage as the base/cat1 buff and “+% bonus damage” as bonus/cat 2 damage. normaly the bonus damage is prefered over the base damage since you already have a bunch of base damage from weapon mark and so on.
I think I’m finally gettting the Cat dmg categories. On some builds I will have both of those boffs.
in case you have the choice, in most cases bonus damage buffs are better to use than base damage buff. so a nausicaan is always better than the uhura boff 😉
Hi I’m pretty new to parsing and dps as I started with single target dbb bo builds as I found them fun..after getting a vengeance and deciding to embrace faw and dps: as a compromise do you think I could keep the build the same but with kbc and a crafted disrupted omni in the rear, just to keep it 4 little more forward facing, without it losing crazy numbers? I mean I’m hovering around 50000 Dps on my single target builds and would be amazed to get over 100000 with an aoe. Thanks and sorry for long post. Amazing build!
Forgot to add that I don’t have the timeline stabalizer, is that essential in Dpd nowadays? The amount of dil I’ve spent on Phoenix boxes is crazy
Timeline stablizer was 6th anniversary ship and required lobi now to get it. Personally I dont do the lobi thing except for couple of ground items I got with free lobi. Your better off using another good console that’s not so expensive. You can get the delphic tear on exchange cheap! But I am a fan of exotic builds.
A ship with beam arrays will parse more strongly while broadsiding as all arrays can fire. The Kinetic Cutting Beam is quite mediocre; it’s not affected by any firing cycle haste or weapon enhancements. Being kinetic damage, it does not do great damage against shields. If you want to face tank, you’ll do better damage with DBBs. If you want to broadside, a single omni is more than enough, learning how to optimize your firing arcs would be my suggestion. The Timeline Stabilizer is not a lobi console but now only available via the Phoenix pack if you did not unlock the Krenim Science Vessel during the 6th Anniversary. It’s not necessary but a nice boost to DPS via it’s firing cycle haste, debuff and captain ability cooldown. You could certainly use another CritH/D console such as the Assimilated Module or the Broadside Beam Emitters (from the Vengeance) which offers a small captain ability CD reduction, a boost to max energy and a clicky that offers a bit of damage.
What about substituting the omega torp for the KCB?
2 torps on a ship is a DPS loss as either you have the torp on autofire and then cannot control which torpedo fires with your weapon enhancement and the unenhanced torpedo would hit for very little DPS. If you set your torps to manual fire, one torp is sitting idle.
Also, since the Nausicaan torpedo is a disruptor torpedo, it is boosted by your tac consoles, Synergistic 2 pc, Nausicaan 3 pc bonuses meaning it hits at least as hard as a beam if not harder. Any other torpedo will not have the boosts to it’s damage and will not perform to the same degree.
I’m guessing around March they will have another Phoenix Prize Event. It should be easy enough to get it that way. 5 Lobi can be used to get 1 Anniversary Vouchers but that is expensive.
and that requires the project to be slottet 😉
Unless he has the Krenim Science Vessel slotted as an Anniversary project, he cannot use lobi to attain the ship.
ok got it 😊. That would cost hundreds of dollars by math too.
Cheers for the replies, I’ll honestly be happy to break 100k as I’m stuck between 40-60k on my single target builds. I’m unashamedly gonna follow this build to the letter and see how it goes..so the grind begins 😀 I honestly think that my piloting skills and incorrect use of spam bar might be somewhat l8miting my dps too.
The build is here as a reference and a tool; there’s no shame in following it or experimenting on your own with it as a foundation. Piloting is a large part of DPS; the DPS League does have an ISA guide and vid I believe on where to use abilities and to position. Cheers!
Awesome Build you have there T, can’t wait to see what you can do when Reenginering hits. also I need to get my hands on that Vengence. You DA Man for shareing this with everyone 🙂
basically he could change the epic mod on the weapons to change the acc/dmg => crtd/dmg
so wouldnt be a huge increase at all (just slightly so maybe 2-3%)
Thanks Ryan! As Felisean says, the DPS gain won’t be huge but will add a bit. As for sharing, that’s what one should do with a community; we’re all a source of ideas and we can take something and make it better. I’m still tweaking and adjusting this build on an ongoing basis and am looking forward to some of the Discovery lockbox items. Some traits and weapons seem very interesting!
Which deflector dish are you running on this ship? It shows empty on the the STO academy page.
Missing traits or gear is listed on the Notes section as STOAcademy is not current with available traits or equipment.
should have checked that. thank you
You’re very welcome!
Wow, thanks for this Tenore.
I’ve used the Rom version of this build as a model. With respect to your coalition disruptors, I see you went with [Ac/Dm][Dmg]x3[CrtD] for the mods, but I was wondering why with a Rom toon? Given the high Crt Chance you can get using five Rom bridge officers, wouldn’t the superior mods by [CrtD]x3 or [CrtD]x4? Just wondering, since I’ve been dutifully filling my coffers with Dil and Salvage for purposes of re-engineering my coalition disruptors and I didn’t want to start re-rolling until I understood this.
basically every combination of crtd/dmg is fine. for tacs, its slightly better (<1%) to use dmg over crtd.
you might wanna play around with our weapon dmg calculator. you could find it under guides 🙂
You’re very welcome! What Felisean says is true; in general the Dmg modifier is better for tacs due to their other sources of category 2 damage, such as Tactical Fleet, Attack Pattern Alpha and Go Down Fighting. Critical Severity (CritD) is category 2 damage and draws from the same pool. the Dmg modifier is a final modifier and generally will have a great effect for tacs although it is also good for non tacs as well.
In the notes on the build, it lists APB3 for the spambar, however Attack Pattern Beta 3 is not possible with the Bridge Officer options available. Did you mean Attack Pattern Beta 1, Attack Pattern Alpha 3, or something else entirely?
Thank you. Love the build, BTW.
In your post above you talk about using this with an escort. Do you think this build could work the an NX[T6] using cannons? The Intel Dread and the NX are my 2 favorite ships, and I’d love to be able to switch between the 2 without having to respec if at all possible.
And what are your thoughts on the new linked disruptor weapons from the Discovery lockbox compared to the Coalition Disruptors?
And on an unrelated note, how do you register on the site? I can’t find a link on the site to register, and using google to find one gave me a page with a dead link.
Thanks very much! You could certainly use the build template with the NX Escort; it has a very good boff layout for A2B. I would probably use Withering Barrage for general PvE instead of Redirecting Arrays and keep Super Charged Weapons. If you’re lucky enough to have the T6 Jem’hadar Strike Ship/Recon Ship, I would lose SCW and RA and take advantage of Go for the Kill and Preferential Targeting.
I am testing the Sensor Linked Disruptors at the moment and think I prefer them to Coalitions; the always present CritD buff applies to all your weapons and with the amount of debuff from the build combined with the low rate of procs, it seems the Sensor Linked are performing at least on par with Coalitions.
Registering for the site is through the DPS Metals Admins; I’m not sure of the process but here is a link to the team:
Thank you, this works quite well on the NX.
You’re very welcome! The build will be evolving and I’ll update it as I can. If you do have more questions, feel free to ask and I’ll do the best I can to answer them. Cheers!
Love this disruptor build and how everything stacks to the disruptor damage output. It’s been really nice working towards a new ship piece layout from the 4 piece iconian. The build works really well with the iconian set but I’m certain the build has a bigger punch using your layout.
I was wondering however, if you ever used Improved Critical Systems to replace Supremacy in lieu of Cold Hearted, and if you felt it’s a more viable option than using something like Tactical Analysis for someone who missed out on the winter event and it’s sexy little Breen ship lol.
Thank you very much for posting this build and the explanation with it
The Iconian is still a solid space set but as of S13 and the rebalance (also where the Iconian set was tweaked), is no longer the premiere DPS space set. ICS would provide weaker results than Cold Hearted but stronger than Supremacy. Tactical Analysis is also strong. I’d encourage you to try each and see which nets you the better results!
I love this build though I wonder if you have started testing a 2 piece of the bajor defense set at all as I been running that with 2 piece iconian and I have had good results for my pilot escort.
I have been using the 2 piece Bajoran (shield and warp core) and find it to be quite effective. Currently I am using the Colony Deflector and Prevailing Innervated engine with the Bajoran 2 piece and find it to be a better option for DPS than a spire core and Prevailing Innervated Shield or Maco Shield,
Okay thanks for the reply and gives me an idea of the other two pieces to go with bajoran 2 piece though I am using the deflector and shield for 2 piece and the iconian for the other two pieces till I can get the other pieces though colony deflector be a bit till fleet gets it up.
Sounds good. As long as your fleet has provisions, you can obtain a map invite to any fleet with the Tier 3 Renewable Energy completed to purchase the deflector.
I love this build, I’ve used the full entoiled set on my intel dread ever since it became available. Concerning doffs and seeing as torpedos are featuring more and more these days, would running PWOs be a viable choice? I guess it relies on whether the CRTD/H buff applies to all weapons (not just projectiles) and if every shot in a TS has a chance to proc the doff.
Hello! Running PWO can work however as this is a beam boat with a single torpedo, it does it’s best DPS while broadsiding. Firing that torp requires you to move out of your optimal broadsiding firing arc. The EWO CritH/D buff applies to your global CritH/D I believe; so weapons, exotics, etc.
Thanks for this build and really good activity on comments
I am following your Shimmy build and wanted to ask.
1. What do you have your power levels set to?
2. What would you recommend in lieu of not having the Timeline Stabilizer?
You’re very welcome! The build continues to evolve; I will probably update it in the next little while with permission from the admins.
My power levels are set to 100/15/15/30 for Weapons/Shields/Engines/Auxiliary. If you have access to the Broadside Beam Emitter console from the Kelvin Timeline Intel Dreadnought, that would be a decent stand in as it offers a passive captain ability CD reduction. It’s clicky can also parse decently if buffed with some Cat 2 damage boost such as APA, GDF and anchored. If you don’t have access to that, perhaps the Science Flagship console for the 3pc bonus, the new Domino console from the Bajoran Interceptor or a lobi console such as the Bioneural Infusion Circuits or Tachyokinetic Converter.
Hey I just wanted to drop by and give thanks, I’ve been grinding away, still don’t have a few of the consoles/epic gear etc but I’ve just broken the 100k barrier for the first time in USA by following this build! I’m one happy captain! Missing like 3 consoles and lots off stuff still on vr/ur. Thanks again, also for those thinking of of giving up, don’t, it’s true about piloting being a massive factor, thanks tenore and everyone on this site for the help and info.
Congrats and you’re very welcome! Keep up the good work!
Mate I got a long way to go, I saw you in a pug and had way over 200k then apologiged to the rest of us 😀 I hope to get there one day, I think my gf may leave me before then 😀
Positioning, timing and skill activation play a big part of DPS; the build is the foundation. You will get there, keep evaluating and keep looking forward!
If a player doesnt have consoles such as DOMINO, Timeline Stabilizer, or enough Lobi/EC for the ship for the Obfuscation Screen & PDBW , what would you reccommend swapping these out for?
I have about 650/700 mil EC but to acquire DPRM and PDBW it will basically eat all my EC based on exchanged prices at the moment, unless I can get a deal for both Ships, but will still need to swap out 2 of the consoles in each of the builds (Domino & TS simply not available for me to get).
Any info/suggestions would be great
I would use the Broadside Emitter Arrays for the passive Captain ability cooldown reduction in lieue of the Timeline Stabilizer. The Obfuscation screen can be replaced with a healing console; the Protomatter Field Projector or the Regenerative Integrity Console are good choices. For Feds, using the Secondary Shield Projector and the Disruption Pulse Emitter for the 2 piece Synergistic bonus would work. Instead of the Domino; any CritH/D console such as the Assimilated Module or Zero Point Energy Conduit can fill the gap for the moment.
Thanks for the reply,
Forgot to ask, as I cant get the Bajoran core, and assuming you were running it for the 2pc bonus with the shield, what do you think would be good alternatives?
From your A2B build, thinking DPRM, BIC, PDBW, Then possibly Broadside Emitter and something else, just a case of getting the Core/Shield sorted now
I’d run the classic Spire Core if you can’t get the Bajoran. I’d swap out the Shield to the Prevailing Innervated Shield from the Comp rep for a small 2 piece bonus.
Thanks for the reply
Would have never thought of running another Prevailing piece as I always forget about set bonus unless its weapon focussed (such to my shame)
Hoping to have it all up and running by the weekend (fingers crossed) – just have to hope the DPRM and PDBW dont break the bank too much (plus need to sell quite a few things this week while grinding too!
You’re welcome, good luck getting it set up!
I use Prevailing Fortified Impulse Engines instead of Innervated, but is innervated one batter?
I prefer the Innervated as with Aux2Bat you frequently only have 1 hull heal which I use to proc the crit bonus from Strategist. FAW/CSV/CRF/TS will proc the overcharge and there is enough tactical seating to slot a dummy power as a second proc to use as additional defense and mobility.
How did you manage to get an Epic Romulan Drone Ship Mk XIV??
Oh btw, this question is about the Shamshir CSV/CRF Hybrid.
On STO Academy it shows as an Epic Romulan Drone Ship; the ship is an Elite Romulan Drone ship – Tier 5 SB with a T5 Communications Array.
Thank you for clearing it up. It did look strange on STO Academy, both saying “Epic Hangar” and “Elite Romulan Drone”.
Another question. I missed the 8th anniversary event so i can’t get the Bajoran Singularity Core. Any suggestion for a replacement and if i then should exchange Deflector, Engine or Shield?
Oh btw, this question is about the Shamshir CSV/CRF Hybrid.
I would use the classic Spire Core and use the Prevailing Innervated Shield from the Comp rep for the 2 piece bonus. You could also use the Ico shield if you need a more defensive shield or the Maco shield for more energy. There has been some talk about using a Hyper-capacitor shield for it’s clicky but I haven’t done any testing with that.
Brilliant, thank you for those suggestions 🙂
You’re very welcome! Happy DPS’ing!
I’ve tried your 14.5 Shamshir build. In fact, I was working on something similar trying to take advantage of the sensor-linked disruptor beam arrays. [Side Note: I had no idea there were omni-directional disruptor sensor-link beam arrays! Huzzah (Unfortunately, I don’t have the energy credits to buy them).] I have two questions:
1. I struggle with using this build (or my version of it) because the Shamshir’s inertia is always dragging me away from the fight if I fly at anywhere near full or 3/4 speed. Yes, the prevailing engine let’s this beast move fast, but so often I just glide away from the action. Any suggestions for countering this?
2. You’ve slotted the “Anchored” trait. Am I to assume that you are pointing and shooting with the Shamshir? (or, more accurately, broad-siding while standing). But that seems to me to be curious tactic with a Rom/Tac build that has very little tankiness. Am I confused as usual? Do you fly with friends that are constantly healing you?
I have my mouse buttons 4 and 5 set to throttle up and down; I make sure I am at full speed when moving between points but reduce my throttle as I get close to the next position. Just like downshifting in a car. I proc the prevailing overcharge as I start moving so that I get the most benefit from it.
I am broadsiding with the Shamshir while running beams. I don’t usually have issues dying; I have enough passive healing, defense and support traits to keep me alive. I am able to tank and do not require a healer. The Agent Nerul doff is rather important to the build as all weapon damage under Attack Pattern Beta heals for 0.2% of my max HP. I would use a Na’kuhl Warfare specialist(tactical) instead if you don’t own the Delta Rising Pack. I also use the Automated Protomatter Conduits trait which on an incoming critical hit, procs a considerable hull and shield regen for 15 seconds out of every 30. I also use the Context is for Kings space trait; if I am taking incoming fire, it will boost my DRR. If not, it boosts my damage with a Cat 2 damage boost.
Thanks for this really helpful response!
You’re very welcome!
Tenore, one follow up comment. I have EWC, Redirecting Arrays and Supercharged. But I missed the Winter Event, so I don’t have the Cold Hearted starship trait. I also haven’t purchased the Pilot Bundle, so I don’t have the Promise of Ferocity starship trait. Any ideas for substitutes? I do have Supremacy, Reciprocity. Universal Law if for Lackeys, and some others.
None of the traits you’ve listed will really add DPS to your build. Can you list which DPS traits you have available?
Sure thing. Here they are (skipping the ones that obviously don’t apply to a beam build or are purely defensive):
1. Black Alert (something happens with Torps if use intelligence ability);
2. Built to Last (reduces weapon power usage);
3. Improved Command Frequency;
4. Demolition Teams (kinetic damage buff);
5. Stay at your posts (recharge time reduced for Tac abilities);
6. Designate Target (but not running Focused Assault);
7. Improved Predictive Algorithms (a candidate);
8. Numerical Superiority;
9. Overwhelming Force (but not running relevant tac abilities);
10. Pilfered Power (a candidate);
11. Improved Pedal to the Metal;
12. Preferential Targeting (probably?);
13. Retaliation (yes?);
14. SIF Shunt.
Thanks again for the input
My recommendation for traits are:
1 Numerical Superiority
2 Improved Command Frequency
3 Built to Last
the sensor linked work even better now then the previous build version?
Which had mostly Coalitions on it i think
With the infrequency of procs, I am finding the always on CritD bonus of Sensor-Linked Weapons to be preferable. The standard 5 mods at epic plus the passive Defense and Critical Severity for weapons is quite nice. Previously I was using Coalitions.
Havent used atb builds for years, is there no aux to sif on this build because that shares CD with atb?
Great built, I have outfitted my Kelvin Connie the similar way and it is awesome, however I would also like to have an epic, authentic build with phasers, the original setup with 2 kelvin photon torp launchers, 6 maxed out kelvin phaser bbs and the alternative timeline 4 piece console set+phaser or phaser/photon projectiles consoles. Do you think it would mean a huge dps loss from the disruptor setup or can it be viable?
An “authentic” build will mean a fairly large DPS loss; Dual Beam Banks are usually paired with omnis to maximize facetime which means a rear torpedo is inactive and not actively contributing to DPS. Beam Arrays are generally superior as broadsiding can maximize firing arcs and weapons actively contributing to DPS. I can’t think of any 4 piece set that is worth the investment, never mind the Alternative Timeline set. The most I would use from that set would be 2 consoles; the Broadside Emitter Arrays and the Mining Drill Laser Emitters which would grant you the 2 pc phaser damage boost. That being said the consoles themselves aren’t great; with the exception of the Broadside Emitter Arrays being a stand in for the Timeline Stabilizer and a mediocre one at that, the Alternative Timeline consoles are out performed by all the meta DPS consoles. If you want some flavour, by all means. If you are wanting to maximize your DPS, I would pass.
Thanks Tenore, this meta disruptor setup is great, outperform my outdated antiproton built from last year by far but I guess I’ll try the original setup as well just for fun as I have all consoles of the set and weapons already just will save it in a different loadout.
You can also copy the build but outfit the ships with phaser arrays and swap in the Prolonged Phaser. Swap out the Nausicaan 3 pc for this, either 2 or 3 pieces: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Quantum_Phase_Catalysts
so after I have seen your build and that good numbers that you have done with your build @Tenore I decided to give it a shot my self on recreating similiar build to yours with items and stuff I have available
and this is my build http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/1ba16ce313c405c930ccd69ba9d91ac0
so can you please take a look and give me some advice on it
thank you kindly in advance
I’ve looked over your build and the major thing I’ve taken away is that you don’t seem to be aware of diminishing returns. Damage resistance is on a curve whereby the more sources you have of it, the less benefit each individual source provides, much like Cat 1 Damage boosts. So you have a lot of fat to trim so to speak from your skill tree, traits and console choices. Personally, I would drop the RCS accelerator, the Protomatter Field Projector(Or the Assimilated Module if you really need the extra healing from the PFP), Advanced Hull Hardening, Advanced Engines in favor the Synergistic 2 PC – DPRM, PDBW, SSP or DPE(Select 2 based on budget), and swap in 1 to 2 DPS Rep Space Traits based on preference (Generally Enhanced Armor Penetration, Enhanced Shield Penetration and Tactical Advantage are quite good). I’m not quite sure why you run both EptE and the Advanced Engines trait as that’s a lot of resources to put into mobility; generally one or the other is more than enough.
If you would consider a respec, your skilltree is not quite optimal as there are a few points where you’ve invested points that aren’t giving you a great benefit. You have 3 points in hull plating which is a poor return for that amount of skillpoints; 1 point gives you 15DRR, 3 points only gives you 25DRR. I would leave 1 point in and put those other 2 points elsewhere. Also 3 point in Advance Targeting Expertise is a worse choice that having 3 points in Weapon Amplification; I’d drop a point and swing it over. My own skill tree is published; so you can see there the choices I’ve made and I’m happy to explain why if you have questions.
The Iconian set is no longer the go to set; it’s still a solid performer but has been surpassed by others which offer greater benefits to CritH/D, mobility and passive damage boosts. By no means do you need to switch but there are other options out there should you be interested in changing.
Otherwise, nice job! Happy DPS’ing!
Just one thing, there is no diminishingreturn for damage buffs. each +1% damage will add the exact same value as the +1% b4.
so as example, if you would have 5% damage at the start, adding +1% there will add the same value as if you have 500% damage at the start and add +1% there. it will be always the (theoretical) value of +10 (as example!)
there are generaly only a few things with diminishing returns, the major thing would be damage resistance rating 😉
You are right in that there are no diminish returns, poor choice of words on my part. Rather the affect of each Cat 1 buff has a lower relative magnitude as the number of Cat 1 buffs increases. Diluted maybe is a better choice of words.
well thank you for your reply Tenore, after I have read it I went on tribble to do some testing arround with traits and skill tree suggestions, I have choose to put one point in Ablative Hull Plating cuz my Physical and Kinetic resistance is really low http://prntscr.com/izhah4
also this is build I have made on tribble http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/1d9b6c3b240915662208cd85e4bf4565 so if not a problem when you get the time can you take a look at it and say what do you think is it improvement in any way to the previous one
also thank you for posting your build so the rest of us can see how it looks when a pro makes and build and so rest of us can try and folow, and also tnx in for all previous help and all future help
you are really one great man, cheers
You’re very welcome! This new skilltree is much leaner; I still question whether you need the extra point in hull plating as you have Context is for King which will boost your DRR when taking fire and Active Hull Hardening. Hazard Emitters and Brace for Impact will also provide DRR when used. I do think the move to the Nukara 2 piece will provide a nice little boost. I would probably drop the Conductive RCS Accelerator in favour of the Timeline Stabilizer(if you have it) or the Broadside Emitter Arrays(For the passive Captain CD reduction). If you have it, the Domino Console is worth slotting simply for it’s clicky.
Otherwise, good evolution of the build. I’d hesitate to claim I’m a pro but I have all lot of experience with builds due to trial and error. Best of luck and happy DPS’ing!
why the CSV/CRF Combo? IS that better than 2 copys of CSV?
You don’t need 2 copies of anything with A2B. I use the CSV/CRF combo since DPS drops when you need to focus high HP single targets. You could certainly drop CRF and the Go for the Kill trait and slot a higher Kemocite while running Promise of Ferocity.
my bad, i meant on DMG Control Build i use 2 Copys of CSV. should i change that to
DMG control? I’m not sure I understand what you mean by that. Do you mean a Drake build? 2 EptX skills with 3 Damage Control Engineers? If CSV is at global cooldown of 15 seconds, you will not need another copy. If it is not at global, I would either take a second copy or rethink your cooldown management method as there really isn’t a reason that CSV shouldn’t be at global.
Yes, Drake build, but doff setup is like on Hellspawnys mirecle build, with Projectile Doffs instead of DMG CONTROL DOFFS, so eng CD should be ok, but for tac CD i use 2 Copys of
CSV ; CSV 3 and 1. the second copy has 15 Sec CD: if i use only CSV 3 i have 25 Sec CD.
So i have 2 Copys of it to use CSV more often. Thinking that makes sense:D.
But honestly i have to say, i was never really sure if i understood the global thing correctly 😀
So you are forced to stagger your usage of CSV3 with CSV1 to maintain constant uptime but CSV1 is considerably less DPS than CSV3. Strategist is not enough to bring CSV to global and tactical initiative will only help you in a very quick ISA. Any other queue will find you having to use CSV1 to fill in the gaps with cooldowns.
what would be recommended then to do, using CSV/CRF? plus a doff maybe for CSV reduce?
I would just use CSV3 and a doff to reduce CD; 2 if you can slot it. That should be fairly reliable for you. I’d only use CRF if you have the Go for the Kill trait.
Here is my NX, based on your build: http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/6e1bdc51857fd1f61909e515abb31ba5 Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.
Alright; for Rep traits I would use Controlled Countermeasures instead of Enhanced Armor Penetration. Cold Hearted counts as a control and 7% Cat 2 is much better than +5 armor pen. For Starship traits I would use Super Charged Weapons instead of Preferential Targeting since it will also boost your Scatter Volley Damage. If you have Promise of Ferocity, you could also drop the Nausicaan torp for another DHC. I personally question the value of Deft Cannoneer in an escort; I would take another DPS trait, Context is for Kings would be my choice. For Boff skills; I would drop down to Kemocite 1 and run Torpedo Spread 2. The Nausicaan 3 piece is not worth having a beam that isn’t enhanced by any firing modes; I would lose both the omni arry and the Nausicaan beam in favor of a Sensor-Linked Turret and the Heavy Disruptor Turret from the Counter Command Rep. Lose the Martok console for the Counter Command Rep console for a 7.5% Cat 2 boost from the 2 piece bonus.
Thank you, I will implement those changes and see how they go. I do have a few questions, though:
1) In light of the change to the weapon firing arc with CSV, should I replace my Wide Arc Sensor-Linked Dual Heavy Dis with a regular Sensor-Linked Dual Heavy Dis?
2) I’m not sure if you noticed it in my notes, but I replaced [Ac/Dm] on all my Sensor-Linked weapons with [CrtD/Dm], is that the best option?
3) On your builds you use Andrea as one of your Eng Boffs, should I replace my Krenim Eng Boff with Andrea?
4a) What would Promise of Ferocity replace?
4b) Since I wouldn’t be running with the Nausicaan torp any more, should I also replace the Nausicaan console, and if so, what with?
4c) Should I also respec to remove the 2 points from Projectile Weapon Training, and where should I put those points?
4d) What would I replace Super Charged Weapons with?
4e) What would replace Torpedo Spread?
4f) Are there any other changes that would need to be made?
4g) In light of all of these changes, is it worth it?
Again, thank you for this build, and for taking the time to give me advice on how to adapt it to my NX.
Never mind on questions 4a and 4d, I was so busy analyzing the individual changes you’d suggested that I failed to think of the changes as a whole, so I went a bit stupid. Promise of Ferocity would obviously replace Super Charged Weapons, so sorry for the those stupid questions.
1) Quoting a Gent from Reddit regarding the CSV change:
“MandoKnight 7 points 19 days ago
Essentially, CSV will now deal damage to up to 2 additional targets, within a 90-degree cone of your primary target.
With the (often misunderstood) caveat that the weapon’s firing arc still applies when selecting its targets: it does not (for example) increase a Quad Cannon’s firing arc to 90° for the duration, but instead checks the intersection (that is, the overlap) of the 90° CSV targeting arc centered on the line from you to the target and the firing arc (typically 45° for Dual/Dual Heavy/Quad cannons) centered along the ship’s longitudinal axis.
Personally, since the base firing arcs haven’t changed, the CSV update is fairly minor. The only benefit that 45°-arc cannons see from the change is that if the primary target is within your firing arc, you’ll also always be able to hit any secondary targets within the arc, even if the primary is on the opposite edge. Cannons with wider arcs (turrets, single cannons, wide-angle DHCs) can tag a wider selection of secondary targets, but you’ll still want to maneuver to bring your 45°-arc weapons to bear. It does make it easier to line up multiple targets within the cone (particularly within close range, where the angle between multiple targets is often wider), but it doesn’t increase the firing mode’s actual ceiling in most cases. Overall, it’s a decent change that mainly slightly improves the utility of wider-arc cannons, but doesn’t greatly affect its standing as a firing mode.”
Wide-Arcs have greater value with the change to CSV, not less.
2) Crit/Dm tends to be the best epic mod for DPS assuming you have sources of Accuracy in your build either via traits or gear, i.e. Intense Focus, Duelist’s Fervor, DOMINO, etc.
3) Currently I’m using a Kentari Eng as my 5th Boff which is probably the best choice for Feds. Andrea is good choice as an alternative but not as strong.
4b) The Nausicaan Siphon is still a good damage console in it’s own right, a bit better than the Bioneural Infusion Circuits console according to some sources, there’s no need to lose it unless you have something better to use.
4c) I use the Torp when I use beams, unless you plan to never use the torp or Super Charged Weapons, a respec is unnecessary.
4e) A higher version of Kemocite.
4f) Do you have any other Experimental Weapons?
4g) Is what worth it? That’s a vague question, I’ll need something more specific please!
Thank you for your reply.
1) That is good to know. I only saw the quick blurb in the patch notes, so having it better explained is great!
2) That’s what I figured, but I wanted to be sure since you’re far more the expert than I am.
3) My fleet’s colony isn’t there yet, and but I’ll get one when I’m able. I’m not the sort to go around asking to be invited to other people’s fleet holdings, and I’m not even sure if I could buy the boffs from someone elses holding.
4b) I have pretty much every console, but nothing better comes to mind.
4c) I normally don’t use torps on my escorts, but since I still want to be able to use this build on my Vengeance, I guess keeping it would make sense.
4e) So that would mean having Kemocite I & II? Though in light of your other answers, since I’ll be keeping torps, I suppose this is kind of a moot point.
4f) I have all of them, I think, and if I don’t have one, I can get it. Would a different Experimental Weapon work better with things as is, or only if I get Promise of Ferocity?
4g) I mean, would making all of these changes to go with Promise of Ferocity be worth it in terms of increased DPS, or would any increase in DPS be negligable?
3) That’s fair; you would be able to get the Kentari from any fleet that has a T5 Morale completed. There are only a few in game at the moment; I myself asked for an invite in the NOP Public Service channel.
4e) Kemocite II and then finding another DPS or mobility skill to be used at the ensign level; Beam Overload 1 works to proc the overcharge for the speed boost, Distributed Targeting 1 works for some chained AoE.
4f) The best experimental weapon is the Experimental Protomatter-Laced Sheller from the Shuk-Din frigate.
4g) Promise of Ferocity enhances both CSV and CRF; which would mean you would have +20% Cat 2 up nearly the entire time you’re in combat. That is quite worth it to my mind. In general PvE, most of your time is spent using AoE with a few high HP targets requiring CRF.
Here is my updated build: http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/62af3637b9e526afc697884ba22b775b
I’ll get the Kentari as soon as I can, otherwise I think everything is all set, unless you have any other suggestions.
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!
You’re very welcome!
2 minor changes; I would probably drop Point Blank Shot for Fleet Coordinator; you get 10% Cat 2 just for being on a full team of 5 players. I would consider using Anchored instead of Repair Crews or Fluidic Cocoon. It will make you squishier but you can control when you build stacks. That’s all!
Romulan Tactical captain here 🙂
Since i dont have the bajoran singularity (lost 8th anniversary :/ ).
Now i use the following:
1)Deflector from colony (intervention) , nukara engines(1p),thoron-infused singularity , nukara shield(2p).It would be better to change the nukara engines and shield with the competitive rep Engines & Shields (Fortified or Innervated) please?
2)My Sensor-Linked Dis Beams are [Crtd/Dm] [Dmg]x4 , is it ok or i should change to [ac/dm] maybe?
Thank you for sharing , <3 respect!!!!
Maybe if you have time you can see my build and give me a tip to make it better though 🙂
Felisean is correct; the meta DPS choice for ship gear is thje Colony Deflector, Comp Engines and Shield and the Spire Core. CritD/Dm is the DPS epic mod of choice and Dmgx4 is optimal for tac officers and performs well for other professions as well.
As for the build itself, I do have a few suggestions.
Doffs – I would get rid of the Fabrication Engineer as you don’t use tranfer shield strength so it’s not doing anything for you. As your build is overly tanky, I would suggest perhaps another EWO for CritD or CritH.
Boffs – Your copy of FAW 1 does nothing for you as A2B ensures FAW 3 is at the global cooldown of 20 seconds; use Torpedo Spread 1 as a dummy power to proc the Innervated Engine’s overcharge for a mobility boost.
Consoles – I would drop the Tachyokinectic Converter for the Disruption Pulse Emitter to achieve the Synergistic 2 pc bonus of 33% Disruptor damage; that has a stronger effect that the CritH and CritD boost from the Tachyokinectic Converter. You seem to be built too tanky as you have the Valdore console, Invincible, EptS and RSP. I would suggest losing one of these, your choice.
Traits – Romulan Operative isn’t as strong a DPS trait as something like Point Blank Shot, Fluidic Cocoon or even Duelist’s Fervor. I would take one of them instead. Supremacy is an unnecessary trait as it doesn’t add to your DPS and the extra energy isn’t really needed; do you have any other DPS traits you could use instead?
First of all thank you for helping and checking my build 🙂
I changed everything you suggested.
1)Fabrication Engineer changed with another WEO for CritH
2)FAW1 removed and changed with Torpedo Spread 1 .
3)Tachyokinetic removed and replaced with Disruption Pulse Emitter.
as for the EptS i changed with another copy of EptW (i cannot thing of anything else) ,i am thinking changing the Valdore console too or not? if you agree with the Sirius proposal for Weapon Sensor Enhancer console maybe i cant thing of anything else right now.
I have the Point Defense Bombardment Warhead but i think its ok only if i ever use a torpedo or not?
4)The Traits i have are the following:
Adaptive Hull Plating
All Hands on Deck
Charged Particle Reaction
Emergency Weapons Cycle
Down But Not Out
Exotic Particle Shielding
Hit and Run
Heavy Tachyon Mine
Improved Predictive Algorithms
Improved Feedback Pulse
Structural Integrity Overcharge
Stay On Target
Super Charged Weapons
Synergistic Tactical Systems
I am going to buy the Miracle Worker Warbird this weekend so i will have the Redirecting Arrays too.
Updated Skill Planer: http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/8a6863d423135327afac2b6a37d426ed
You’re very welcome!
1) Sounds good!
2) Excellent, mobility is fantastic
3) I would slot EptE1 instead of EptW1 since EptW1 does nothing for you as EptW3 is at global. I would lose the Valdore console and see how you feel; it frees up a console slot if you don’t have any survivability issues. The Point Defense Bombardment Warhead is better than the Disruption Pulse Emitter; it’s passive is +1% CritH and +25% Projectile damage(which isn’t useful to you but the CritH is). FAW doesn’t interract with accuracy overflow in a meanful way; it only applies to your primary target; I would reslot the Tachyo Kinectic Converter instead of the Valdore if you want to try that. Also you have Improved Feedback Pulse as one of your traits which requires you to actually have Feedback Pulse as one of your boff skils to benefit; so lose CPB1 and slot FBP1 instead. With Redirected Arrays, I would probably lose All Hands on Deck.
Thanks again for your reply!!!
I will follow your suggestions above and try to see if i can stay alive without the valdore console 🙂
Tenore I wonder if i decide to use a torpedo with nausican set (based on your setup) for testing, since i dont have the D.O.M.I.N.O console which gives +100% Recharge Speed for Torpedo Weapons which its great plus the boff recharge time (i regret now that i didnt participate in the 8th anniversary :/) is there any other console i can replace it with (from loby/ship)? Because if i go with torpedo and nausican set the only thing i am missing from your template is the domino console.
Thanks again for all the information you shared and your replies i really appriciated <3.
I forgot to ask about traits sorry for all those questions :/
If i have to decide between Redirected Arrays & Promise of Ferocity which one will be better for my build dpswise?
Because i am afraid redirected arrays will add more threat to my ship and with pugs this means straggling to stay alive if all the others are very low at dps and the promise of ferocity buff looks very nice since i am almost all the time in combat but i never test them since i do not own them and a suggestion will be great so i dont make a bad decision.Thank you!
I would use both and simply tank up via a console like the Valdore or the Protomatter Field Projector. You only have 5 starship trait slots but 11 console slots; durability concessions should be made with console slots first unless you’re running elites where Invincible or Honored Dead would be essential.
The builds look good!
The Domino is a great DPS boost due to it’s clicky and the potential to elongate that clicky’s duration. It’s not an auto slot and there is no replacement for it really. Any DPS console boosting CritH/CritD is fine in it’s stead.
i’ll take them both and try with valdore console then and see how it goes .
Thank you Tenore for all your suggestions and help 🙂
If you do use a torpedo, your boff layout will need a little tweaking! Forgot to mention that!
I got the traits you suggested and removed invicible .
Final Beams Skillplaner is the following:
And with Topredo is the following based on your suggestions too (about tweaking boffs i dont know for beta II and ts III or vice versa is better or anything else you can suggest ofc?).
Thank you !!!
1) the more common way right now is to use colony deflector, competitive engine, spire core and competitive shield (or maco or ico or colony depend on what you prefere, the competitive is the dps choice basically)
2) the epic crtd/dm mod is the best you could get for a weapon right now, no need to change back to the old ac/dm
Thank you felisean for the info i will keep them with [crtd/dm] then ,already used the competitive 2p with colony and fleet core with no issues:)
I wonder about my stats epsecially about accuracy, right now accuracy is 19.8% my Crit chance: 33% and my Crit Severity: 141%.
And if accuracy is low (is there a number i MUST have so i know in future builds) how can i raise it with no big impact in my dps stats since i dont own the D.O.M.I.N.O. console.
Bear in mind your weapon specific accuracy isn’t represented on the global accuracy rating; so you’re receiving another 12.75 weapon specific accuracy from your skill tree and another 6 accuracy from Intense Focus at full stacks.
If you can afford to pay lobi crystals by any means, you may can acquire Weapon Sensor Enhancer console (Price is 200 lobis). The console increases your global accuracy rating by up to 40 (At Mk XIV Epic; at Mk XIV Very Rare, the number is 36).
So i’m coming just coming back after being gone for about a year looking to update my build. Potentially I want to follow what you have done here but I am hoping I don’t have to get rid of my beams since they were expensive. That being said i’m big into min/maxing so if the DPS loss from keeping the coalition disruptors would be too high then ill just have to make due.
Here is my build that I was running when I quit that I was able to achieve 186k in ISA
Currently, All Plasma embassy consoles are nerfed ; so it must be replaced to other consoles such as Temporal Disentanglement Suite, Tachyokinetic Converter, Nausicaan Siphon Capacitor (If using Disruptor), Quantum Phase Converter (If using Phaser), or etc., ASAP.
Coalitions are fine, procs don’t occur very frequently anymore as FAW used to grant a much greater chance for procs to occur. That being said, when the coalitions do proc, the debuff is a nice boost. Your build would have been fine for most ISAs and some less challenging queues; currently it would be quite fragile and lacking in punch. Sci Ult is no longer a real DPS option due to the rebalance of S13 and the changes made to the Sci Ult at that time.
which trait would you drop if you arn’t an alien?
Point Blank Shot
Is the Shamshir just the better option over the Flambard? I bought the cross faction pack and just wondering which one is currently the top performer, also I run ap currently and the 4 set ico, dont have krenim trait or console sso i run the 3 set from the scimis with polymorphic and 2 set borg, i swap in target rich environment for Ifbp, what is the change that now A2B has come back into favor, i am just returning and last i remembered it had fallen from grace, I was using the energy weapons officers, just wondering if i need to change that as well. If this has been asked then i apologize but what doffs are run on the 14.5 Shamshir? I am working on getting the competitve set cause im told that preferable over ico now
Flambard is no longer the top due to the plasma console nerf among other things; Shamshir is the current top performer in my opinion. Please take a look at the notes section as it includes lists of Boffs and Doffs as well as any missing gear due to STO Academy not being up to date!
Builds and post updated
Thanks for the update, any alternative for Agent Nerul for those without the Delta pack?
You’re welcome; a tactical Na’kuhl Warfare Specialist works as an alternative!
Found one cheap thanks!
dont know that Na’kuhl Doff, what does it do?
20%(?) chance on tac boff abilities to get 20%(?) of your dmg done from the next 10 hits as a heal
20% chance, 10% heal.
can these UR warfare Doffs be used together with the other purple warfare doffs?
No, only 1 Warfare specialist at a time can be slotted.
However, If you apply Neal Falconer (Ground Warfare Specialist) on your Active Ground doff slot and Dlyrene (Space Warfare Specialist) on your Active Space doff slot, you can gain +15% Cat1 all dmg bonus vs. Borg. (Neal Falconer also benefits space dmg)
tenore, why the beam overload on the csv/crf build?
It’s a dummy power to proc the Prevailing Innervated engines.
Greetings matey 🙂
I read (maybe)some years ago in reddit that elachi weapons dont proc well and have a 5 sec lockout from proc’ing again, is it still the case? Did they fixed it?
Hello! As far as I am aware, they have the normal proc chance and no lockout. The chances of a back to back proc are not high but I haven’t noticed any issue with it.
Great 😀 Thnx man ur da BEST :))
lol Thanks! 🙂
hi Tenore great build, but i cannot find Hellspawny’s CSV Avenger one to compare :/
Here is the link!
also am surprised no one mention that on build notes spam bar orders are messed up
The order of the spambar is correct. Not sure what you think the issue is?
beside i wouldnt use one spambind but a more split keybind to have more control 🙂
but to start with, a spambind is fine 😉
Tenore’s S14.5 Shamshir A2B dont have KLW2/APB1 – copy paste bugs dont know about rest of builds
also thanks for link! cheers!!
kemocite and beta could be replaced by any version in this case 😉
Builds updated and spambar removed.
oh thats not needed to remove it, it defnitly help people to not forget stuff. so its normaly better to use a spambar than to not use the abilities at all 🙂
I have question about Elachi CSV build – why normal elachi cannons instead of heavy one on front?
DCs have the same sustained DPS as DHCs. DCs have a lower power draw, more shots per cycle(which should result in more Kemocite procs) and a 1 second CD. DHCs gain +10 CritD, have a higher energy draw, deal their damage in 2 shots then have a 2 second CD. They should be fairly equal all things considered.
addendum for the firecycles/cooldowns
dhc/elachi heavy crescent cannon/heavy turret: 2 seconds fire time, 3 seconds cooldown(recharge) 4 hits
dual cannons/single cannon/turret/quad cannon: 3 seconds fire time, 2 seconds cooldown(recharge) 6 hits
beams/dual beams: 4 seconds fire time, 1 second cooldown, 4 hits
for scatter volley, the recharge between fire cycles doesnt increase, fire rate either, theres just a maximum of 3 targets hit
for rapid fire:
dhc (and the others): 2 seconds fire time, 3 seconds cooldown, 6 hits
dual cannons, turrets, cannons: 3 seconds fire time, 2 seconds cooldown, 9 hits
The kumari wing cannon is a bit different 🙂
1 second fire rate, 3 second cooldown 1 hit and works like a dual cannon during csv/crf if i remember correctly
Absolutely correct Felisean; not sure quite what I was thinking about when I wrote the previous comment.
Nice build, using a variation of this.
What do you think about and have you tested running Trilithium-Enhanced Phaser Turret and Delphic Antiproton Turret on the rear weap slots just for the procs?
Also have you tried Colony Deflectorm with Spire Core and Nukara 2 pc?
i wouldnt use just one delphic weapon, thats not enough to really maintain the proc there (just 5 sec duration), but the trilithium enhanced phaser + console is a great choice at all.
for the nukara 2 piece, you sacrifice the competitive engine and the speed boost there and thats not really worth it 🙂
hope that helps a bit and in case i missed something tenore might answer too later 😉
Thanks for the quick reply. With the trilithium enhanced phaser + console.. would you use the console for 2 piece over bio circuts?
depend a bit on the amount of other fire cycle haste buffs you are using. the more you’re using of firecycle haste the less efficiant it will be at the end because of the calculation there. but i also like the +15 flightspeed there, that one is great too. i think i would rate the trilithium over the heavy biomolecular in close to all cases.
and since the trilithium+console is for free, just try it 😀
Thanks very much; I’ve tried the Trilithium 2 pc; it seems quite solid. I would also avoid using a single Delphic weapon as maintaining uptime on the proc would be close to impossible. Nukara 2 pc is a legacy DPS set and is not a strong choice for current builds. As Felisean points out, the lack of the speed boost would hurt it’s performance.
Last question… which console is your pref: Bioneural Infusion Circuits or Tachyokinetic Converter. Using on the D7. Thanks again for your advice 🙂
normaly bioneural over tachyokinetic
On the same page with Felisean here, BIC is usually the superior choice.
Are cannons just superior to beams now?
Cannons are the high DPS meta atm. They do require more skill to maximize your firing arcs but have a much higher DPS ceiling.
I am a newly returned STO player. As such, I’m a noob! LOL… anyway, I am trying to set up a captain ship combo. I have Feds, KDF, Roms, and now JH captains. But, I am trying to figure out where to invest my time and energy to start with. Assuming I enjoyed all equally for different reasons, which combo is the strongest at moment. I thought about the JH Vanguard Dreadnought cruiser build… but don’t know that I really like the mix of damage types… antiproton/disruptor/phaser… Is that the way to go… I was reading your article about the A2B and same damage type.. that is the way I use to play and always liked it… but to be competitive is that still viable?
Any help or advice you can give would be most appreciated!
Rom tac will be the strongest DPS choice still due to having access to the T6 Scimitar Flagships and 5 SROs bridge officers. Disruptor is still the top damage type; mixing damage types theoretically gives you a higher ceiling all other things being equal but disruptor is at worst the 2nd highest DPS energy type but much more consistent.
Thank you… that helps a lot … I did not realize the T6 Scimitar was still such a strong choice. I would assume that the tac Scimitar is the way to go…is there a fairly current scimi build on STO-League?
Would your build for the Vengeance fit the scimi or not really?
I have Shamshir builds for the Scimitar included on my build page; Shamshir is the Eng varient and is the best DPS choice at the moment.
Awesome! Thanks a bunch Tenore! This is very helpful for a guy just coming back.
You’re very welcome, happy DPS’ing!
How does Wave Spiral weapons compare to elachi weapons?
Spiral Waves are the most consistently highly DPS Disruptors at the moment as they have an extra mod and extra Cat 1 built into them. Elachi can parse well but are reliant on procs to achieve this, otherwise they are quite solid as a disruptor choice.
Tenore, With the new Jemmie BOFFs, what races do you think are optimal for the Shamshir FAW build in terms of BOFFs? Are you going completgely with SROs, or should we be slotting the Jemmies in Eng and Sci, and then the SROs in tac (My fleet doesn’t have access to the kentari boffs yet, but I assume that they will be worth slotting).
With Roms; SROs are still the best boff choices. Generally it’s SRO > Vanguard > Kentari > Pirate.
what about non-romulans? I assume SRO > the rest in the order you listed
most likely you will end up using 2 sro (tac from embassy), 1 eng vanguard, 1 sci vanguard and 1 kentari (eng or sci depending on the ship slots). this count for kdf, fed and jem’hadar toons 😉
for rom like tenore said 5 sro, if you have the eng and tac boff from the delta pack, use both of them. you could replace 1 sro with a kentari if you want to 😉
interesting, didn’t know you could have more than 1 vanguard at a time. Didn’t let me at least 🙂
Are the Spiral Wave DHCs better than the Sensor-Linked ones now?
yes. right now they’re the strongest weapons you could get.
Spiral waves have an extra mod and also an extra 15% Cat 1 damage making them the strongest dirsuptor choice at the moment.
Emergency Weapon Cycle
Go for the Kill
Currently i’m using these 5 traits. Are any of them worth dropping for Promise of Ferocity?
If you’re running a hybrid, dropping Preferntial Targeting for Promise of Ferocity would be a good choice as PoF buffs both CSV and CRF whereas PT only buffs CRF.
Here’s the latest version of my build: https://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/62af3637b9e526afc697884ba22b775b Any suggestions?
A few; for consoles, do you have the Weapon Sensor Enhancer, Domino or Hostile Acquisition? I would slot 2 of them, in the order I’ve listed instead of the Nausicaan Siphon and the Assimilated Module. For boff skills, I would use Beam Overload 1 instead of Torp Spread 1 due to higher uptime. For traits I’d find a way to get Enhanced Shield Penetration in for Rep Traits, probably instead of Automated Protomatter Conduits. I would slot Give Your All instead of Duelist’s Fervor. The trait changes are mostly for Elite content. As well, consider getting some tac consoles from the Colony for the healing proc; I use 4 at the moment for most elite content. You lose CritH but can gain a good amount back via accuracy overflow.
I have everything except the colony consoles. I’ve been asking for a T5 colony invite in NOP Public all day, but so far no luck. My fleet is 2 days away from completing the project upgrading us to Tier IV, so it’ll be awhile before we hit Tier V 🙁
No Fun Allowed and The Breakfast Club both have the T5 Colony; there are a few other fleets as well. Keep asking in NoP Public Service if you can. The DPS Metals admins might also know of some German/European fleets that have the T5 Colony, I would try asking Felisean or Markus if you can.
We actually have two Fed fleets with a T5 colony. Just ask in our channels.
Or Hellspawny! 😉
anyone have any idea how to build a kar’fi carrier for dps
It’s not a ship I’m familiar with, perhaps one of the DPS Metals Admins might have more experience with it.
Much thanks to @obione69 for the colony invite, I now have the consoles 🙂
I fly an Odyssey t6 so i used a mix of your Rom and vengence build with Beams becuase will im old school like htat, for the beam build you were using the bajoran 2 piece, i see here you went back to the compettive 2 piece, whats yoru thougths on that?
The Comp 2 pc does give a small weapon based CritH buff and the chance to proc CritH/CritD when taking incoming fire. The Spire core is better for keeping energy weapon power levels higher which equates to more damage. Also the Comp shield is a resilient shield which means less bleedthrough. The Bajoran set is still a solid set and free but is squishier than the Comp 2 pc and generally a lesser choice for DPS currently.
I got a few questions to get some ideas of how this is all based – in ViL/Elite cannon meta.
1. The “10 to 20 armor/hull pen as health decreases” dyson rep trait is no longer viable/broken or you always run with people who debuff the hell out of your targets so that pen becomes obsolete as the target drops health?
2. What’s your space crth/crtd after dropping all of those locators on both your Intel Dread and your Khopesh?
3. Can those Jem Vanguard boffs be purchased per piece and from where?
4. The Jem Vanguard boffs can be also sci/engi for non-jem toons?
5. Why not replace an aft turret with an omni? It would fire the omni once the BO is triggered, it would hit really solid and after that, the omni buffed by BO would outparse any turret from this game.
1. Tactical Advantage only affects your primary target whereas Magnified Firepower applies it’s buff to all weapons and therefore all your targets. Tactical Advantage has low uptime versus Magnified Firepower which is always on. I don’t run with any debuffers, generally 3-4 other energy DPS and perhaps 1 Sci Torp.
2. Global CritH on my Vengeance is 22%, however my accuracy is at least 98 depending on what traits and consoles I use. On parses my weapons CritH is generally in the mid to high 40% range. Global CritH on my Khopesch is 27%. Weapon’s CritH on parses is above 50%.
3. Vanguard boffs are only available via the Vanguard pack if I recall correctly.
4. Vanguard boffs are an account unlock, you receive 1 tac, 1 eng and 1 sci Vanguard.
5. An Omni with BO does not outparse any turret. I tried MAS on the Vanguard Warship and slotted an omni and it was consistently around 60-70% of the DPS of a single turret when adding up the BO damage and regular omni damage.
It all makes a lot of sense.
MAS is broken cause you can’t control who shoots first. And you end up boosting your omni by cat2 cause a turret shot first. On a torpboat with omnies/turrets for other purposes I see it as a possibility.
I’m still skeptical on the 3rd/4th turret vs one omni with the BO buff. Suspicion dies last 😀 Thanks for the clarifications!
You’re very welcome!
MAS will apply to each other weapon in turn, i.e. Beams/torps after your cannons/turrets fire, cannons/torps after your beam fires, etc. I believe you can buff all 3 weapon types as it does not just apply to the first weapon fired. MAS is broken due to it’s cooldown at the moment; it reaches it’s global cooldown and then adds another 10 seconds of cooldown before you can use it again.
Easiest way would be to run an elite queue with an omni and BO and see how they parse. Run a few to get a good sample size!
MAS will buff all other weapon types except for the first one fired. That means that if a turret fires first, no cannons/turrets/dc/dhc will get the bonus. On a mixed dbb, dc, dhc, torp, ba, turret, mine – layout, that cat2 really would justify the usage of it. The skill itself seems like OSS – well timed button instead of spam bar buff. OSS acts the same on its cd – even if a2b or global it, it’s still not evenly reliable, but still useful.
The armor pen from dyson would on theory apply on three targets during csv, but it’s debatable if the game actually triggers it on all auto-targets (targeted by skill -csv, faw, ts) or just on your manual lock. If it’s just on the manual lock, it’s only viable for single-target crf builds or ground.
I think a great addition to this build page would be making a walkthrough or walkthrough video for ISA and HSE.
Unfortunate that MAS works that way. I’m not 100% sure but it seems as if the Dyson armor pen trait has been updated to work on multiple targets. I did some testing today with it and it’s quite decent.
Considering making a walkthrough video for ISA/HSE but there are quite a few out there that are current and well made already.
I’ve slotted it off and whilst using csv not much of a difference was noticed except for larger targets (that are manually target locked – main targets).
You should do walkthroughs out of a few solid reasons:
You run one of the most pug-wise utility builds. Your stuff works also in pugs.
There is no new walkthrough for ViL.
The Vengeance with cannons is a challenge to pilot and place properly with dual cannons.
Seeing your numbers(floaters) and strategy in a pug and in a premade would really add a cherry to the top of the build.
True. My schedule should be lightening up this fall, I’ll see if I can make a vid or two.
Amazing design. I was wondering though, what skills do you use (skill tree: Focus Frenzy, etc.). The selections are not on the build so I am not sure what to use.
Thanks very much! I use Battery Expertise, Subsystem Repair, Sector Space Travel Speed, Threat Control, Energy Weapons CritH, Projectile Weapons CritH, Accuracy and the full 3 points in Focus Frenzy.
Alright, thank you very much. Also, on the spiral wave disruptors, is it [Dmg]x3, [spiral] and [dm/CrtD] __or__ [Dmg]x2, [CrtX], [Spiral], and [CrtD/Dm]. The skill planner is not the most userfriendly system.
dmgx3 dm/crtd spiral 🙂
Alright, thank you very much!
Just wondering, I was looking over your notes on why you used the Point Defense Bombardment Warhead for the passive Crth, why not use the Tachyokinetic Converter or Zero Point Energy Conduit? Both have high passive CrtH (I think) and have more beneficial effects for drain skill and power settings. Just a suggestion…
Point Defense Bombardment Warhead completes the Synergistic 2 piece for 33% Cat 1 Damage AND +1% CritH. Neither Tachyo or Zero Point, which incidentally is the worst of the readily availably CritH consoles, comes close to matching the damage boost. Something like 5.8% for PDBW vs 2.5% for Tachyo and 1.9% for Zero Point.
Gotcha you. Thanks once again. I didn’t realize point defense was part of a set…I don’t have the ship
Details on the set and it’s bonuses.
I’m currently running the Vengeance with the Terran DHC and 4x Spiral DHCs and I was wondering if switching to 3x Spiral Dual Cannons and 1x Wide Arc (regular Wide Arc as i can’t afford 350mill for a sensor-linked one) would give any noticeable increase to DPS or if i should just keep my DHCs.
Hello there! A Wide Arc is a strong asset to a CSV cannon build as the extra arc flexibility compensates for the loss of a mod. The Wide Arc is generally my second highest parsing weapon. A crafted Pen Wide Arc with Dmg2 would be my first choice if the Sensor Linked is out of your budget. A Dmg3 Wide Arc would also be quite fine.
which tac consoles are the better ones now? colony or spire ones?
Spire Consoles offer the higher DPS ceiling. Colony Consoles offer a fantastic healing proc which is very effective in advanced and Elite content. I prefer a mix of both.
Thanks for making this awesome build accessible, I utilised both the cannon and the beam versions and they stood their ground exceptionally well in both adv/elite pve and even pvp too. I have just obtained an Amarie class smuggler’s heavy escort and just love the looks of the ship. However I do feel that it has inferior boff seating and as it lacks commander engineering, I cannot use rsp 3 and neither oss1 intel power as I need the space for the two aux to batteries. I was wondering if I should keep the console it comes with as it has a cooldown reduction for tactical boff skills. There is also a sacrifice that instead of a 8th conventional weapon, it has the experimental weapon slot that is unaffected by consoles (I have all of them with the exception of the railgun and the sheller). I would like to know how you would gear up the ship, what changes would you make to adapt for the beam or cannon build. Thanks in advance.
I’m very happy that you’ve been able to make use of this build and that it was served you well! The Amarie does require some compromises as it’s seating isn’t ideal. I’m not familiar with how much DPS it’s console does, I would probably test it and based on it’s results, make the decision to keep it or get rid of it. It’s passive is not great but the cooldown on the clicky seems to be very low at 20 seconds. For the Experimental Weapons, I have found the Proton Weapon to be quite a well parsing choice, very similar to the Sheller in DPS despite the difference in how they function. I’ve slotted the TLS in the build below but I would experiment with that slot perhaps trying the new console from the T6 Narendra Support Cruisers instead.
Thank you very much for the quick answer, I will try your suggestions and they really do work.
You’re very welcome, happy DPS’ing!
Is there any reason for the buids to be disruptor?
I am doing my build for vengance and I do not know what energy to use, I am between phaser, disruptor or aniproton. I know the characteristics of each one, but I would like to know if any has something special or that they have more variety of consoles.
Casualsto is correct. Disruptors and Phaser also have the most set bonuses to boost damage currently. Disruptors are currently the top choice with Spiral Waves and Sensor-Linked being the number 1 and 2 choice respectively. With the Tier 6 Rep, phaser could potentially catch Disruptors. We’ll do some testing and update as we can!
Disruptor is the top dps choice due to the Terran Task force dual heavy cannons that are disruptor. With the new game update of ApD, tier 6 will commence with new reputation work. That will also bring an identical Terran dual heavy phaser cannons. So Disruptor/Phaser remain the top choices and the canon-choices. But any other energy type is marginally lower. (like 5% difference) – So just go with your favorite flavor and don’t underestimate the Advanced Fleet Space Weapons if you’re on a budget. They’re heavily consistent. Enjoy! Hope it helps!
Thanks I will keep in mind, I would be interested in using some phaser or disruptor of the dicovery since it has a very interesting effect
Question on the DOFFs for the Kopesch CSV/CRF ViL build. You have Agent Nerul slotted (in the notes). I was thinking of replacing him with Gorcam, which gives a 50% chance to reduce cannon special attacks by 10 seconds. Is this overkill when using 3 technicians? As I understand that a2b build, assuming you’re constantly procing the aux to bat, you are getting a 30% reduction in cool down in all BOFF abilities, which I assume means that the cooldown is now 21 secs for CSV. Add withering barrage (adds 4 sec to CSV), and the cooldown is almost the same as the skill duration. But it seems to me that Gorcam would also help with CRF and, a little, with CSV cooldowns. Or is this just a waste of a DOFF slot?
It’s not overkill it’s a blatant waste. Aux2Bat gives you a 30% cooldown for all boff skills every 10 seconds as each copy of Aux2Bat can be activated in turn at 10 second intervals.
And with 3 points of tac readiness to start off, CSV is 30/1.2 = 25 seconds without any Aux2Bat activation. 25*.7 = 17.5 with 1 Aux2Bat activation + 17.5*.9 = 15.75 from the Innverated Engines.
Glad I didn’t buy him then!
So am I!
What are good supplements for Cold Heated and Go for the Kill traits?
The traits are listed in my article. To sum up, Promise of Ferocity, Calm before the Storm, Improved Critical Systems would be fine replacements.
Most probably replacements.
Build updated as of Dec 3rd, 2018
Thank you for the AOD update Tenor. watching you score higher just inspires me to do better 🙂 keep up the good work my friend.
Thanks very much Ryan, I will do my best and also cheer you on in your own DPS journey!
Why did the whole paradigm shift from [dmg]x4 to [crtd]x4? Is the dmg mod no longer cat2?
Also, why not simply keep both disruptor and phaser builds available. Aaaaand bonus, make a polaron one for the JemHadar Warship? That would certainly be interesting, given the fact that polaron and plasma are coming strong from behind, since the piezo lukari rep cannons now can be plasma or polaron and there’s plenty of polaron and plasma boosting consoles. 🙂
I’m not completely sure why CrtD4 is outperforming Dmg4; I believe it has to do with the amount of Cat 1 boosts available to Phaser (and Disruptor). Dmg mods are a final modified and was never Cat 2, CritD dips into the Cat 2 pool as it is Crit Severity. I can post again my updated Disruptor builds and also include a bonus Polaron build. lol Anything else? 😉
That’s amazing and promotes some variety.
The final modifier means that it adds to the final calculations, which is basically a 0.03x modifier to its total damage.
So around 12-14% increase in final damage( given on a weapon with max dmg mods) is bested by a 100% critd boost (which means that your critical attacks will do roughly 50% more damage, resulting in a total unbuffed critd of 200% (3x crit modifier) at a 25-30% crit chance or lower perhaps lower due to colony tac consoles?
In a given scenario unbuffed 1000 dps and 3x critical multiplier with 20-25% crit chance is better than a 1180 dps with a 2.2x crit multiplier? Indeed that means that critd was better than dmg in any day of the week s12 to AoD if you had a decent crit rate. And everyone kept advocating for dmg>critd in space during s13 and s14.
Thanks and looking forward for your builds. They’re really on point and make the most sense for both lone wolves as well as people in coordinated runs.
I appreciate the kind words. I’ll touch up these builds with a Disruptor and Polaron variant so people can experiment with them. Cheers!
I had a question about the Spiral-Wave disruptor cannons. Going off of the last few comments, if CrtDx4 is now outperforming Dmgx4, where exactly does that leave Spiral-Waves, since i’ve heard it said that [Spiral] basically amounts to [Dmg]x2.
Is a MkXV gold Cannon with [Ac/Dmg] [Dmg]x3 [Spiral] better off left with the Dmg modifiers intact, or would it be better to re-engineer to say [CrtD/Dmg] [CrtD]x3 [Spiral] instead?
CritD/Dm CritDx3 on Spirals offer the higher DPS ceiling while Dmgx3 theoretically is more consistent. The CritD/Dm epic mod is the DPS mod to select whenever possible.
Thanks as always for the insight Tenore!
You are welcome good sir!
So this leads us to a general consensus that any mix of Crtd and Dmg should be satisfactory, with variance, based on spike vs consistency?
That might be over simplifying things. Any mix of CritD and Dmg would be fine, CritDx4 seems to offer the highest possible DPS and Dmgx4 the most consistent. CritDx3 Dmg would be up there as well if you’re looking for the 3 most optimal mods combinations. This does depend on a few things such as crit rate, Cat 2 boosts, etc.
I have just been turned on to this site, and to your builds specifically. I have been playing casually since launch and have decided to kick it up a notch. I have been running AP beam boats for years, and since everything I have is beam related (with a desire to max out beams in any way possible) can you direct me to your builds that have beams? Including traits, skills, and the ideal ship? I really appreciate it.
This was a beam build originally when it came out. I’m sure the links are still present on the sto academy planner with a search query.
The build is pretty straightforward. If Tenore doesn’t have the time to do so, I’d gladly advise you into getting the most out of your A2B ship, if you specify which ship and what weaponry do you posses (phasers/disruptors/ap/etc?) And if you wanna run a torp with it.
I’ll update my beam builds and post them to the page.
Hi, top stuff here, well done. If you could do a beam phaser version of this build, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
I’ll update my beam builds and post them to the page.
Sorry to pester but any idea of an ETA please?
Build is updated
Top stuff, thank you.
Is there a reason CSV is included on your tac boff still
It’s a firing mode proc both for the Comp engines and the Colony Tac consoles.
Hi there, just a question about some of the equipment choices. Are the quantum phase converter and gamma 2-piece slotted purely for their cat1 phaser damage bonuses? Do they work better than something else such as the counter-command 2-piece or weapons sensor enhancer?
Essentially, yes. The CC 2 piece doesn’t seem to perform as well as the Quantum Phase Converter, never mind the Gamma 2 piece. The Weapons Sensor Enhancer is a bit more complicated as there are 2 schools of thought regarding accuracy overflow; one is that all excess accuracy is overflow, the other, that there is diminishing returns on accuracy overflow.
Hello there! i have been modeling my T6 Oddy very closely to your Kopesh for the flagship console data, i noticed you have dropped the timeline stablizer with 15-30% haste for the Trilithium 2 Piece which only gives 5%. is that due in part to the cooldown time versus constant run time?
It is. The Timeline Stabilizer does complete the Flagship 3pc but I’ve found on higher DPS runs the constant uptime of the Trilithium 2 piece to be more of a benefit.
even tho on flagships i would stil run the 3 piece for the possible +30% bonus all damage you could get from the 3 piece there 🙂
So on romulan side, flagships could benefit from that 30% in 3 stacks of 10% that has a 10% of proccing when being hit on a shield-less flank?
Given the power that the enemy weapons have, would sacrificing the console slots for this make-up for also slotting Honored Dead and/or Improved Temporal Hull heal immunity trait?
Without some hull active survivability, triggering it 3 times at a 1/10 chance would require taking some serious amount of strikes, on paper at least.
Yes, the flagship 3 piece does give you that chance. However, with the death of the FBP meta and threat tanking, the ability to achieve and maintain 3 stacks of that 10% Cat2 boost is extremely small. Personally, I don’t feel that chance is worth the console slot. And I generally take 20-35% threat in my HSE runs with a CSV/CRF build.
So that would be good just on tanks with ifbp trait… I also feel that as a tac, risking death to proc that unreliable bonus is a no-no and in coordinated runs you don’t get to take eniugh shots for that to proc.
It’s more that the 3 piece rewards a lot of incoming fire with the chance to proc the 3 piece Flagship Cat2 damage bonus. Not many high DPS cannon builds taking enough incoming damage to reliably proc that bonus and obtain high uptime. It becomes a matter of weighing the pros and the cons, which for me, even at 20-35% threat on most HSE runs, is not worth slotting.
*Enough – mobile tactile keyboards rock!
Regarding the power levels on aux2batt builds.
How do you leave your power settings for the Vengeance?
And how for the Khopesh?
Max weapons and then… What? I’m toying around and it seems that I can’t find a decent setting to ensure 50+ engines base and 50+ shield on the khopesh. Do you max out on shield power or engine power? Or go weapons max, dump rest into aux and 15-15 shields-engines?
Max weapons the rest into Aux.
Hey all, minor update in that I’ve added my RoD Juggernaut build that I use in HSE to this guide. I’ll be updating builds as well for all ships over the next few weeks. Happy DPS’ing!
awesome thx tenore 🙂
Thank you for the support! 🙂
All builds updated!
Really solid updates.
I got two questions on my part.
Given the fact that a shortcut bar has only 10 slots, what is your keybind order for them?
I mean what comes first generally and what goes last? And where does a2b get triggered? Manually or from the keybind as well?
And second, regarding the Husnock, what is your keybind order on it as well? The recursive shearing and the rapid decay are also on the keybind queue or are they manually activated?
Thanks in advance,
Thanks very much. My keybind is generally as follows:
EptW, EptE, KLW, APB, CSV, SA, HE, A2B, A2B
I use RS manually and RD immediately after RS is down. Big HP targets are best obviously!
HE – the sci heal in the bar? Are you using the engineering Competitive engines and that procs them or is there another logic behind it?
So RS down – the stored damage applies to the target and then you use RD? Stacking RD during RS wouldn’t yield a larger RS final damage?
I run competitive tac engines and my tab bar for the Intel Dread (as an example) is:
Eptw, epte, bo1, klw, apb, csv, oss, a2b, a2b.
But my keybind requires one press for each skill slot to be used. Yours uses all of the skill slots on a single press?
HE is for the 3% CritH proc from Strategist. You could use RD before RS. I’ve tried using it after to increase it’s duration from 5 to 7 seconds due to the entropy from RS. It may work to be a bit more DPS via RS your way.
I wouldn’t run BO1 or OSS on my buff bar as I prefer to use the BO1 as need for mobility and OSS to time with spikes on large groupings or major targets.
That’s super-smart. You’re still using Intel as your main specialization or have you switched to Miracle Worker? (Mw has a bonus damage cat2 buff on heal)
I see. I use that oss cycled up to ensure that prioritary clusters are taken off.
I got apa, gdf, the new tac skill, tif, domino and other clickies as manual triggers.
Do you have these as separate trigger-bar (keyb
*keybind) – or you also use them as manual triggers? (sorry about the dual posting, mobile keyboard failed on me, the post got through before finishing the edit)
Still using Intel as primary; MW tends to be better for tanks and isn’t as good for general DPS from my testing. All my major buffs or skills are manual triggers.
Hey, welcome back Tenore! And thanks for the updated RoD builds. I see you dropped cold-hearted from the updated RoD builds for Husnock and the Jug. Am I correct that that’s because you assume that someone on the team is running that trait?
Thanks very much, it’s good to be back! Yes, generally someone is running CH so for maximum DPS, you can drop it unless you’re pugging. CH is still a great trait and worth taking if you’re not coordinating as a team.
Could you please suggest a coalition disruptor cannon build for the tal shiar adapted destroyer? Thanks in advance.
Sure, I’ll whip that up over the next few days for you!
There you are!
thanks a bunch
Anyone working on a build for the Miracle Worker Flight Deck Cruiser? I keep checking the builds list, and I haven’t seen it yet.
I’d whip up a build on STO Academy as soon as it’s available. Already have it promised here!
It has been over a month since I asked about this, and still no sign of a build for the Discoprise. I am a sad panda.
flocki is working on it ^^
Here you are!
Is there ever going to be an official STO League build for this ship? I have yet to see anything posted on the builds page, and was kind of hoping for a build that was at least occasionally updated.
Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier build added to the post.
Thank you! I have 2 questions: What do you suggest should be on the spambar, and what mods should the weapons have?
Not sure if this makes any difference in what you’d suggest for the mods, but via endeavors I have +30 CritD, +28 Energy Weapon Dmg, +10 Max Hull, +4 CritH, +32 Hull Regen, +16 Impulse, and +8 Shield Hardness. All the other space skills are under 50% filled, so I haven’t listed them them.
EptW, EptE, KLW, APB, CSV, HE, A2B, A2B
CritD x4 CritD/Dm are the mods I’m currently using; I primarily play HSE and other longer elite queues such as Korfez and Dranuur Gauntlet.
Greetings mate, with the one of the recent patches; cryptic buffed beam overload. Do you mind making a overload build? Cheers
Also i wanted to ask you this, i suppose there is no trait that benefits aux power right now, so why do you put aux power after maxed weapon power?
Aux Power is still good for hull heals. Also the A2B shunts the power to the other 3 on use. You could definitely alter the power presets if you wish.
Can do. It’s up!
given the time gap from then till now has there any been updates to the beam vengeance build?
Beam builds have changed a lot. I’ll update and let you know when the build is current.
Thank you very much
Here it is!
If i were to use regular beams instead of DBB I can simply swap them out while leaving the rest right?
You’re welcome. Yes, you can swap beam arrays instead of the DBB. I might consider the Ba’ul AP if you’re going to do that over phaser then.
Sounds good, might give the Ba’ul DBBs a try and see how they do over this phaser build
Which Personal Space Trait would you recommend to drop since I only have 9 slots?
Superior Beam training or Anchored depending on your playstyle.
Why the Causal Reversion Ability on the beam vengeance build ? there is no builder for it to give a good heal or am i wrong `?
the builds here are potentielly out of date. you should check our how to beams / cannons guide and apply the informations listed there to your ship 🙂
feel free to join our discord and ask us there directly
