This build has been updated with some new traits and gear from recent missions.
My main testing ground for this ship was ISE, HSE with a little bit of Korfez thrown in for flavour. The Dranuur Scout Ship performs admirably, playing like a CSV cannon Escort. As a primarily energy DPS’er and cannon user the piloting for this ship came quite easily for me. Avoid staying in place when durability boosts such as DPRM is on cooldown as the hull is quite thin. Use your mobility to position yourself to take advantage of the flanking bonuses on high HP targets. This build receives a 6% CritH boost via the BO boff power which procs the Morphogenic set, a 30% Crit D boost via CRF and also a 22.5% Cat 1 weapon damage boost via TS3 which are very nice boosts to an Exotic build. The Temporal 2 piece provides a 25% DoT boost. The Colony Deflector provides a small boost to EPG and CtrlX and a moderate amount of CritH/D. The Tilly shield provides a shield damage buff for the team and increases DPS as things dying faster is good! Recursive Shearing is taken to boost DPS when engaging high HP single targets but its reliant on the rest of the team to provide DPS to take full advantage.
This build is agile and sufficiently durable with a bit of trait tweaking but has a high DPS ceiling. I will continue to test and refine this build and concept, thanks very much for your interest and happy DPS’ing!

I’m curious about how consistent your Tech doffs proc. The likelihood of them procing seems pretty low considering there’s only a 3x 10% chance presumably every 15 seconds. In your experience do they (or at least one of them) proc every time you use EPtA?
They are inconsistent but if/when they do proc, the damage bonus is considerable. I’d say I have a proc at least once every 2 activations if not more.

Hi Tenore, thanks again for posting your builds and whatnot. They’ve been very helpful. I just started torpin’ and I’m having some issues deciding on a ship. I’m a sci captain and am using the T5U N’Kaam atm, I have all the items you’ve listed for this build besides the Gamma rep. Problem is I don’t know if I wanna go all in on EPG/kinetic/mix of both. What ships would you suggest KDF side to fill these roles?
My pleasure, I’m happy you’re getting some value out of the builds. As a Sci Captain especially, you’d benefit from running a full EPG/Torp set up. Generally an EPG/Torp build will out DPS and out perform a straight Kinetic boat. Hopefully the Kinetic boat captains will forgive me for saying that. Are you looking for T6 ships? Just KDF or Crossfaction? C-Store, Lobi or Lockbox?
Yup T6 ships. Was leaning towards the Dranuur scout on my KDF but no luck as of yet getting an invite to a T5 colony. I have enough zen to buy a ship/bundle but right now not enough EC to buy an exchange ship unless I sell off some of my zen for keys. As for science ships, Dranuur scout and the Eternal seemed like the two best options unless I missed some since I started searching. Tyvm for responding.
Forgot to mention faction. I was going to play this build on my KDF but Fed seems to have a wider variety of ships and I have a science character Fed side also so not really too hung up on faction. Crossfaction bundle would work or faction specific is fine too.
Eternal and the Dranuur Scout are 2 very strong ships; I prefer the Dranuur Scout personally but the Eternal is perhaps a bit more resilient and being a C-Store ship, can be shared across your account. The Eternal’s crossfaction 3 ship bundle also has access to a great Science DPS Trait, Exotic Modulation. If you’re getting started on the Exotic/Torp journey, I’d go for the Eternal and get the 3 ship bundle with the Temporal Dread and Temporal Raider as well.

Thanks for posting this build! I am actually tried to run something very similar, but always failed with ship’s low durability. At the end I switched to ethernal and mostly exotic, because torps didn’t do much for. (1) I am interested what is approximate % of weapon damage you have with this build?
(2)Also, I don’t see honored Dead on the build, while you have in description. Did you really manage to stay alive without it? 🙂 I mean I would really love to know how – the ship is so squishy.
(3)I have also some concerns about Delphic applications, I would replace console with Auxiliary Ejection Assembly (cat2 instead of cat1 for Delphic) and get romulan torpedo (instead of dyson – it will go aft). This will make all torpedo procs much more often, also plasma burn works reasonably well with big targets. What do you think?

I would say that the weapon damage might account for no more than 20% of the total DPS. I run Honored Dead in most elite content but can get away without it with just a little build tweaking and tactical positioning in things like HSE. The Auxiliary Ejection Assembly is a great Cat2 console from my understanding, as a Fed, it isn’t a priority for me to acquire it. The Romulan torpedo would be fine, it’s not a huge DPS contribution either way.

I have a simlulair build but cannot get near that kind of DPS, so it must be:
A Im a really really bad pilot or
B i press my abilities in the wrong order.

Quick question about the Gamma Synergistic Deflector. Did you re-engineer it and if so to which attributes? All EPG or a combination of Control and EPG?
This build is a bit outdated; current meta is the Colony Deflector for extra CritH/D and modded for EPG and CtrlX!
